Privacy Policy

In short: we don’t track you, we don’t use analytics or advertising cookies, and we only use the details you send us to reply to you.

Who we are

BACA Chess (“we”, “us”) runs this website and our community events. For any privacy question, or to make a data request, email contact@bacachess.com. We are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect, and why

We deliberately collect as little as possible.

  • Contact form. If you message us through the contact page we receive your first name, last name, email address, reason for contact and message. We use this only to read and reply to your enquiry. Our lawful basis is your consent (you choose to send it) and our legitimate interest in responding.
  • Nothing else. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies, analytics, pixels, or fingerprinting. Our fonts are self-hosted, so loading the site does not share your data with third-party font or CDN providers.

How your message is handled

Contact-form submissions are processed by our hosting provider’s form service and are accessible only to the BACA Chess team. We do not sell, rent or share your details, and we do not add you to any marketing list. We keep enquiries only as long as needed to deal with them, then delete them.

Joining the community

Joining the WhatsApp community or signing up to an event happens on external services (for example a Google Form and WhatsApp). When you use those, their own privacy policies and terms apply. Links to our social accounts (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Chess.com) and our LinkTree are also operated by those companies under their own policies.

Where your data is processed

Our hosting and content tools may process data outside the UK/EU. Where that happens, we rely on providers that offer appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Because we collect so little and use no tracking, the privacy impact is minimal wherever you are in the world.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and equivalent laws (including the EU GDPR), you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of the personal data you have sent us, and to object to its use. If you are in California or another region with similar rights, the same requests apply, and we never sell personal information. To exercise any of these, email contact@bacachess.com and we will respond promptly.

UK and EU residents also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Our events welcome a broad audience. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before sending us your details through the site.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site grows. The “last updated” date above shows the current version. Questions? Email contact@bacachess.com.
